Why it's okay if your counselor loves you...

Because I know my schedule about a month in advance, that's why. Next year is shaping up to look very good, and the most surprising part of it all, is that all my classes fit into the schedule. Maybe this is karmic payback for my schedule being impossible last year.

First Semester (with Ind. AP Stats)
1. AP Lang
2. AP European History
3. AP Spanish
4. AP Psychology
5. AP Chemistry
6. OPEN HOUR

Second Semester (with Ind. AP Stats)
1. AP Lang
2. AP European History
3. AP Spanish
4. OPEN HOUR
5. AP Chemistry
6. AP Human Geography

Overall, I'm really looking forward to all my classes. I have a new Spanish teacher (yay!), Lang is something I've been looking forward to for a long time, and Human Geo looks like it's going to be great too. I'm pleased about it, and I hope it won't be that bad.

oh yikes.

This is truly amazing. So two nights ago, Kara and I had a conversation that lasted for approximately six hours. (give or take) I saved this conversation because it had a few interesting parts. I went back to read it today, and I found the most amazing thing I have ever found in a conversation. So for background: I have a tendancy of randomly jumping from one topic to the next. So Kara and I had finished a conversation about the implications of being a member of the opposite sex, and I randomly threw out my horoscope for that day. And Kara followed me. There was absolutely no transition. It was amazing. Here is a small snippet of this miracle:

Crystal says:
I stand by my statement.

Kara [Done, and it's beautiful!] says:
I know you do

Crystal says:
Keep your eyes and ears open, for you're going to receive a few unusual messages you're not going to want to miss.

Crystal says:
wtf?

Kara [Done, and it's beautiful!] says:
? I don't know. What's mine?

Crystal says:
You may have to use more force and aggression than usual to put a problem to bed permanently. The help of a friend can be a blessing.

see? no explanation whatsoever. and she followed me. So now, Kara not only speaks Crystal, but she evidently thinks Crystal too. Both of us have yet to figure out how she followed that jump, but it was amazing. Now granted, it might have been related to the fact that it was about 1 am at the time, and odd things happen when it's that late. but still. Kara and I have officially hit the "oh my god, are they two different people?" stage of our friendship. Sweet.

Yay for October

Yay! So I just purchased the tickets to Rent in October in Ames, Iowa. Now, I realize that it's not the Broadway cast, but at $35 per ticket, the show should be pretty damn good. So at this exact moment in time, we don't have anywhere to stay. But I'm going to get a hold of Ashile and Mason to see if we could crash there. If nothing else, we could find somewhere to stay in the cities with a friend/family member. But I, for one, am really, really looking forward to seeing it on stage. Not that the movie doesn't rock, but everything is better on stage. So we have very pretty seats in the 3rd row of the first balcony, right in the center, which is the perfect balance of being able to see and having fantastic accoustics. :D YAY! I get to see Rent on stage! The only issue with this being that Logan and I are both still going to be 17 for this little excursion. Which, for those of you who don't realize, means that we can't get a hotel room. Which was the cause of the "so I'm sure we'll find somewhere to stay between now and then" part above. *dances around room singing: "I'm going to Rent"* plus I get to go without my parents which just makes it that much better. :D Kick ass. I had to fend people off my plan with a stick. Aka, to anyone that's reading this, this is -not- an open invitation for you to buy tickets to the show too and find me there. My idea, my show. *hiss* sorry. I'm done being protective now. I came up with this little scheme back in the first part of June and I have been guarding it with my life. and now I'm going! :D and the tickets were significantly cheaper than I was expecting. $70 for two? that's really reasonable. and honestly, the price doesn't really matter. I just want to see the show.

So. Once again, I am in an exceedingly good mood. Only I have to be awake in eight hours to bring Logan to work. Because his car died. And I offered to bring him there. Because I'm like that. And I may be insane, but it really doesn't bother me. I'm just going to be kind of tired tomorrow. But I'm usually tired, so that's ok.

I got wireless internet! *hugs internet* so now I'm sitting on my comfy couch instead of the hard computer room floor. It's much better out here. *nods*

I am anti-morning.

I have recently discovered that mornings are very unproductive. I'm sure this is related to the fact that I have to close at work all the time, but my point remains. If I have to work at one, then let's say I wake up at ten. In order to get to work on time, I have to start getting ready at noon. So.... there are two hours in there that I do absolutely nothing... every day. I can't really do anything after work if I close because my parents don't want me out until midnight every night. So basically, by working only night shifts, I waste a significant portion of my time -and- don't get to see my friends as much. Therefore working nights = Crystal gets screwed over. This is why I have decided to petition Doris for one day shift per week. They can survive without me for one night. So that way, I have two days off to do whatever I want, plus two nights off (Sunday and whatever day shift she gives me) which adds up to four nights off per week. Now that is much better than the three I had before. (yes, I realize this is only one night, but *shrug* one is better than none.) And speaking of work... it is currently 11:54 thus I should be getting off of the computer and doing something productive like showering so I can go make money so I can afford school in the fall. But I really don't want to. But I should. One of these days I'm going to live a day for me. Completely for me. I'm going to arrange a day when I won't do anything anyone else expects of me, just to see what it's like. I'll feel guilty as hell (as evidenced by the marching band incident) but for the moment it'll be nice. Wait... I already did that and decided it sucked. Maybe just one more "live for the moment" experience before I leave for college in the fall. *shrug* I'll see if it can be arranged. Yeah. Mornings suck.

Hmmm... it's been a while.

Hey look! I remembered that I have this! ...oops. So Kara and I started this a long time ago and we haven't posted since March. *shrug* oh well.

So basically... this is my little "I'm having the time of my life" rant. For once, I don't have something to complain about. (amazing, isn't it?) Basically, this last week has been incredible.

Tuesday, Logan came back, which automatically made it a good day.

Wednesday, I had to work from one 'til nine, but when I got home that night, my parents gave me my infinitely pretty laptop. Which I love. *hugs*

Thursday was just incredible, I went to work but it didn't suck at all because Bastian called. So I got to talk to him for about five minutes while feeling extremely guilty that I wasn't working. I also got flowers. Flowers make everything better. Always. *contented sigh* so now I have lots of pretty flowers in my room. :D Doris gave me a gift card to Applebee's so I took Logan out to dinner. Nothing beats free food. Except maybe flowers. (and yes, I -am- in a really random mood, in case you missed it.)

Then Friday was my birthday party, and here's a new one... no one wanted to kill someone else at a function that I organized! yay! there's always one fight about something really stupid and it didn't happen! I was really impressed... thanks guys! *hugs*

Saturday, I did nothing. at all. all day. it was incredible. I haven't done that since the last time I stayed home sick from school. (wait, that's a lie. I went to band rehearsal that day. I am -such- a nerd.) I mean, I took a 2.5 hour nap. I haven't done THAT in ages.

*contented sigh* life rocks. I haven't felt this content since Hudson. and even in Hudson I don't think I liked my life this much. (yes, Brainerdians, you have finally trumped my Hudson Marching Band days. Be proud.) The only qualm I have right at this moment is that I'm really irritated that my life decides to fall together... three months before I leave for college. *hiss* that was relatively evil. But between then and September, I don't think I could be happier.
