Friday, yay!
Angels fly in the air tonight.Saying, Wasn't it just like swimming
Out on the lake?
Stars collide, and the air's alive.
Or was it just like those promises that you made
On our last night?

So, I attended all of my classes all week long with the exception of about 30 minutes of Chemistry between Tuesday and Wednesday and all of Psychology on Tuesday. And just in case anyone's wondering, yes, that's really weird.
I did go to the Veteran's Day ceremony today; however because Kara conveniently forgot her Spanish essay in Borash's copy of The World is Flat, she did not have to sit with Peterson and Hewitt's classes during the ceremony. Hooray! This involved Kara sneaking off to Borash's room when Peterson had the brilliant idea that we should go down early so we could sit together and Kara telling Mick she'd come and find them there (as if I'm that stupid...). The speaker was the same guy I heard at the Rotary meeting on Tuesday, and I liked his speech to the Rotary club better. Some of it was similar, but it was still pretty different. His speech to the Rotary is one I would have loved that one of you guys would have heard because it was really interesting; he talked about where he was in Iraq and what he did and the culture of the Iraqi people. Way more interesting than most of what he said today.
Oh, I'm president of National Honor Society, whatever, that's not the point here. That's there to explain why I had a meeting about the ceremony on Monday and why I have officially decided that things like simple logic are hard to come by; not to name names, but there were two people in that room and the lady whose name starts with an "L" was the sane one. The set-up for this ceremony scares me; there are so many places where things could become screwed up it's not even funny. I'm really curious if all banquets are this poorly managed three days before they're supposed to take place.
Oh and since Sara missed her word of the day yesterday, I'll provide one for us here:
cult –noun
1. - a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. - an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, esp. as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
3. - the object of such devotion.
4. - a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5. - Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
6. - a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
7. - the members of such a religion or sect.
8. - any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.
Using definition four, National Honor Society can be classified as a cult. For goodness sake, we light fricking candles before we pledge to do something. I'm reading the thing on Monday and I don't even know what it says. Oops.

Of course the National Honors Society is a cult. I wouldn't know, since I didn't make it in (stupid mail lady), but I heard that at the ceremony you guys sacrifice the kid with the lowest GPA in the school.
That actually sounds pretty awesome. How come they didn't tell me this in the meeting? Wouldn't I be leading this part of the ceremony too?
*cough*Rianna should get online*cough*
*mutters* Stupid National Honor Society... *clings to Rianna* We can not have gotten in together! Evil teachers didn't circle my name in their rush to get it done and move on the other things.
You should sacrifice Joel Forrest.
Careful Kara...all this complaining makes it seem like you really want to be president....
I voted for you, then wrote in my own name for treasurer. There was a second write in space, apparently so we could write in someone else to not vote for.
You should have seen Mick at the program, though. First row, seated directly between Peterson and Hewitt. Bongos.
I voted for Kara too, but I didn't vote for myself as treasure or secretary. Everyone probably voted for themselves so it will be like a 100 way tie. This will be sweet.
when the hell does this take place now?
Tomorrow night at 5, well that's when we have to be there for pictures and then the actual thing probably doesn't start until 5:30/6. There's going to be an informational thing in the cafeteria tomorrow morning; it'll be great fun!
Well, I don't know about this year, but last year we had to skin the kid with the lowest GPA, and then the President had to wear the skin as a suit and chant. Meanwhile, the Secretary and Treasurer had to lick the remaining blood and body parts exactly the number of times there were people in our graduating class. I have no idea what any of that has to do with being President, Secretary, or Treasurer, maybe "President" just sounds a lot less vulgar than "Kid Skinner."
Hopefully it wasn't the same for you guys.
I can still see the scar I got from the Brand of Truth, which was heated in the Eternal Flame of Knowledge.
*Cough* Rianna's mother summoned her to heaven *Cough* My problem wasn't my GPA or teachers, it was the lady in the mailroom. She's on my list of "People who could save us a lot of money by being fired, but wouldn't hurt us any either."
I thought we were talking about the entire counseling department... Do they actually do anything... ?
Let me think...still thinking...nope, sorry. I've got nothing!
