So... my dad and I have a bet going on about what this picture actually is of.
He says its an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Chicken-tossing contest.
I say he's an Ultra-Orthodox Jew offering the chicken to God.
We both think that he is speculating the question of which came first, the chicken or the egg.
Neither of us speak German and neither of us is feeling particularly politically correct today, but we both recognized the words "Ultra-Orthodoxer Jude".
I told him I could post this on the blog and we'd have some sort of translation in at least half an hour because so many of you are Germanophiles.
We've even come up with a prize:
Whoever answers first wins a chicken egg.

I got the "in Jerusalem" part along with the "ultra-orthodoxer Jude." Pity it's not in Spanish. I could help then.
This man is a comdian who is mocking jews with his ridiculous behavior.

I beg to differ. The German remember is telling me that he's swinging the chicken over his head in hopes of exemplification. I think. My half educated geuss would be that it's has to do with forgiveness, and swinging the chicken brings it.

Not very helpful - I guess you'd need ot know what sect he's from to figure out the meaning of this ceremony, though I have heard of it before.
