Rhinorrhea
So...James decided that "runny" nose is a ridiculous label for rhinorrhea (technical term thanx to Kayla). Rather, he believes that a nose that is leaking mucous should be called "drooling." I thought this was completely ridiculous, but he insists that it only social conventions keep us from calling it such. I believe that drooling only applies to the mouth because it is referring to saliva. Your nose does not drip saliva, nor are the mouth and nose even part of the same system...the mouth is part of the digestive and the nose is part of the respiratory system. The two fluids have different purposes and compositions, mucous is for protection and does not digest like saliva does. I came up with this analogy...you don't say that your butt is puking when you have diahrrea. The two body fluids are different, therefore the actions of expelling each fluid is labelled differently. So why I am I posting this? Well James wanted me to. He wanted to know everyone's feedback...he didn't trust that the people in the van with me weren't swayed by my presence. He had even wanted us to ask the toll booth lady...anyway...post what you think...

It's runny nose. Drooling just sounds wrong.
Drooling- To let saliva run from the mouth; drivel.
Saliva- The watery mixture of secretions from the salivary and oral mucous glands
Rhinorrhea- excessive mucous secretion from the nose
SO they are both secretions...Clear and Thick...and move slowly down a facial orifice...
The purpose of the liquids do not matter...it is the action they have in common...
A murderer commits a murder out of pure hatred, a soldier commits a murder out of justified nationalism and duty to freedom...does this change the action of the murder??? No...a murder is a murder. Someone dies...
Just as with the clear liquid...someones face is drooling.
OK, so they me be a,most the same type of action, but here's the difference. One is out of your mouth, and the other out of your nose. One can't them the same thing, because then we wouldn't know what someone is talking about. That's like saying accupuncture and stabbing someone is the same thing. It's not, and that's why there are two different terms. (I was going to say that one could also say Diarrhea is also drooling, but then I noticed the 'facial orifice' comment. My mother told me to say perhaps the two are indistinguishable for you, but I am a far nicer person than my mother. Kind of.)
Your tears are also clear secretions from your face...that's not drooling...why not? Because where they come from matters and so does the purpose...!!!!
Pshaw, forget technicalities.
It's nose drool.
There you go James...we can stop arguing...Sara agreed w/ you and that is close enough to having me agree w/ you.
...(blank stare)
I am not in need of agreement...
But I guess Sara is only an "H" away right.
Thanks anyways
oh and by the way...accupuncture is stabbing someone...repeatedly, mind you... and with many little needles... your sickly...Rianna...Just ghastly....
The purpose isn't the point...the action is...
stabbing...puncturing...same thing
only more euphemistic.
good intentions or bad intentions for an action are things of subjectivity...that of which delve into what morality is founded upon
and...well, can end up leading people to a large goopy mess...ick
No, see, pricking someone with pin, and making a gaping hole in their flesh are not the same thing.
